About Mr. Benner's Translations of Matthew

By Jeff A. Benner

My translation of the Book of Matthew is a work in progress. I am currently working on translating the book of Psalms and when I finish this, I plan to do the book of Matthew. While some people like to work on one project and finish it before moving onto another, I’m a little different. I like to have several different projects going, so that I have different options to work with on any particular day. This way, if I’m not motivated to work on one particular project that day, I can choose from a different project. I decided to add my work on Matthew to that list of working projects.

The foundation for this translation will be the Salkinson-Ginsburg New Testament, a 19th Century Hebrew translation of the Greek New Testament. I will then translate this Hebrew text into English using the mechanical translation method. I will also note any differences between the Salkinson-Ginsburg and the Greek text, the Shem Tov Hebrew Matthew and the 5th Century Aramaic Peshitta.

If you would like to follow my translation work and get involved, consider becoming a patron.
