ConsonantsThe "resh" is pronounced "r" as in rain. The "shin" is pronounced two ways, "sh" as in sharp, and "s" as in sign. When a dot is placed on the top right corner of the letter it takes the "sh" sound and when the dot is placed on the top left corner of the letter it takes the "s" sound. VowelsThe Hholam Maley. The dot above the "vav" is pronounced "o" as in open. The "vav" becomes silent. When this "vav" is suffixed to a word it means "to him" or "his". Notes
