AHRC Chat Room
Sunday, 6pm CST

Special Note: Due to my work current work schedule, the Ancient Hebrew Research Center chat room will be closed for the time being and hope to reopen it in 2010.

The Ancient Hebrew Research Center is now providing a means for its readers and visitors to engage in live audio/text chat for the purpose of teaching the Ancient Hebrew Language, Alphabet, Culture and Bible. The Chat room is located within the "Paltalk" chat program.

About Paltalk
Paltalk is a free audio and text chat program which you download onto your computer by clicking the "Download for free" link. Once the program is on your computer and opened, you will be prompted to select a nickname and password. Once you have "logged on" a paltalk screen will open. To find the "Ancient Hebrew Research Center" room, click on "All Rooms" which will open a new screen. On the left side, select the "Religion & Spirituality" section and then the "Christianity" sub-section. On the right side of that screen is a list of rooms where you will find the "Ancient Hebrew Research Center" (Note: The room will only appear in this if the room is open, such as at the scheduled times listed below, or when opened for unscheduled chats). To enter the room double click on the room name.

Paltalk Sessions
The AHRC paltalk room is open each Sunday at 6:00 PM (Central Time), for a teaching session led by Jeff A. Benner (Paltalk nickname "Nomad Man") and his wife Denise (Paltalk nickname "Ha-v-v"). Following a teaching will be a Q&A session. This room will be open for approximately 2 hours.

Room Goals
To provide a chat room where one can learn the Hebrew language and Hebrew thought as it relates to the Bible free from any religious or personal bias.

Room Rules

  1. Admins have the right to red-dot, bounce or ban any individual who continually disrupts the room. (Proverbs 22:10 - Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.)
  2. Questions are encouraged, however, there are two kinds of questions, productive and destructive. Destructive questions are meant to cause disruption, accuse an individual, or distract others from the topic. Anyone persisting in asking destructive questions will be red-dotted, bounced or banned from the room.
  3. No profanity or personal attacks.
  4. Keep the discussions on topic.
  5. During open discussions, keep mic time to 2 minutes or less if others hands are up.
  6. Always show respect to others beliefs and opinions.
  7. Never acuse another of being "wrong," rather explain your viewpoint and how it is different.
  8. If a visitor finds another person annoying, they may choose to ignore that person by using the "ignore" feature of the chat room. Do not request an admin to red-dot, bounce or ban another member of the room.
  9. Do not jump the mic (speaking out of turn).

Archived Teachings
A good friend of ours, RJBemidbar, is recording the paltalk sessions and can be found on his Website.
